Chilli Sausage Roll Recipe
Ingredients
- 450g Pork mince
- 1 Pack of shop-bought puff pastry (you can make your own puff pastry if you prefer)
- 2 Tsp Chilli (I used a mixture of Lazy Chilli and dried chilli flakes)
- 1 Beaten egg
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to gas mark 6 and line 2 baking sheets/baking trays with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the pork mince, chilli, salt and pepper until well combined.
- Roll out your sheet of pastry and cut it in half, so you have 2 long strips.
- Split your sausage meat mixture into 2 even amounts and roll out into a long sausage that covers the length of your pastry, and place it down the middle of the pastry.
- Rub the egg mix down one side of the pastry to help seal the sausage rolls.
- From the other side of the egg mix, lift and roll the pastry along the long edges and over the sausage meat and tuck under. Sealing along the edge with the egg mix. Top with the egg wash.
- Slice into 8 sausage rolls and place on a lined baking sheet. It is important to place the seam-side down to stop them from opening.
- Repeat the process for the other side of the pastry.
- Pop into the oven for 25 – 30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage meat is cooked.
- Leave to cool for a few minutes, then enjoy.
