What is orzo?

Orzo is a type of pasta that is shaped like grains of rice or barley. It is commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines. Orzo can be made from wheat semolina or white flour, and it is versatile in cooking.

It is often used in soups, salads, pilafs, and casseroles, and can also be served as a side dish or as a base for various sauces and toppings.

Orzo is known for its small, rice-like shape and is a popular ingredient in a variety of dishes due to its ability to absorb flavours and complement a wide range of ingredients.

Do you need to rinse orzo before cooking?

No, orzo doesn’t need to be rinsed before cooking, just like any other pasta shape.

This is already a delicious recipe but if you wanted to you could add additional ingredients to this dish such as parmesan cheese or sun-dried tomatoes if you want to give the dish a little bit more luxury.
