How to make easy air fryer s’mores in minutes
I am a huge fan of desserts, especially anything that involves chocolate and these air fryer s’mores hit the spot, especially as you can make them in minutes.
If you are a regular here, you will know that we are big fans of our air fryer and are creating lots of new recipes to share with you here in the coming weeks using our air fryer. Long gone are the days of using it for just chips as you can do a variety of dishes in there, including sweet puddings.
Most people associate s’mores with BBQs, a fire pit or open flame but these indoor s’mores are a great treat to have any day of the week and can be tweaked to suit what you have in. For this recipe we use digestive, milk chocolate and marshmallows however in the past we have cheated and just used chocolate digestive. There are no real right or wrong ways to make these, as long as you end up with gooey marshmallows and melted chocolate, you are on to a winner!
Air fryer s’mores recipe
Ingredients –
- Marshmallows
- Digestive biscuits
- Chocolate squares (this can be white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate)
Instructions –
- Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper/baking paper (you only need to line the bottom to protect the air fryer tray from melting marshmallows)
- Place in your biscuits, our air fryer can hold 3 in each basket comfortably.
- Place on your chocolate and marshmallows, depending on the size of these you may need to use a couple of each.
- Close the draw and cook at 190c for 3 minutes, this should be enough time to make the marshmallows slightly gooey and sticky side but also golden. Depending on the size of your marshmallows you may need to do an extra minute.
- Take out your bases and pop another biscuit on top of the marshmallows.
- Enjoy, they will be messy to eat but the most delicious s’mores to eat!

How long to cook s’mores in the air fryer
Although I cook ours for 3 minutes and this should be fine for most s’mores, this is all dependent on a number of different factors. For example, if you use jumbo marshmallows, you are going to want to cook for a little bit longer. For those who use mini marshmallows, you are likely to want to reduce the cooking time.
It is also dependant on whether you can control the temperature of the air fryer, for use, we are able to do this and are large marshmallows cooked perfectly at 3 minutes.
What are the best biscuits for s’mores?
There are so many different biscuits to pick from, that there isn’t really a right or wrong answer for this. It is all down to personal taste but also your location.
If you are after a little inspiration, here are some of our favourites plus other popular choices.
- Digestive biscuits – these can either be plain digestive or chocolate digestive. If you go for the chocolate option, you do not need to use chocolate squares in your s’mores.
- Rich tea – These work well if they are all you have but are not my favourite to use.
- Hobnobs – If you want something a little different, these work great for s’mores giving it a great oaty flavour.
- Graham cracker squares (or Graham cracker halves) – For those looking to go for more classic s’mores then this is a great pick for you as the crunch graham crackers give the perfect texture.
Can you use any chocolate in s’mores?
Pretty much yes!
We stuck with the basic milk chocolate pieces as this is what we had in but you can use your favourite chocolate in there. Whether that is just a plain bar of chocolate or something like Reese’s peanut butter cups, you can make this however you like. If you choose you use chocolate chips with mini marshmallows, just reduce the cooking time a little.
This is the best part about this easy recipe, it is all simple ingredients being cooked in the best way to create the perfect dessert. There is so much scope to make this how you like. As long as you get melty chocolate and fluffy marshmallows that have gone golden brown then you are on to a winner of the perfect gooey s’mores!
Whether you are making a midnight snack or just a delicious dessert after your main meal, this air fryer recipe is going to be a winner. They are great for the whole family to get involved with making too as they are so much fun to make.
