Story behind Quaker Oats oatmeal cookie recipe

In the early 1900's Quaker Oats published a recipe for oat cakes on their packaging. This became a firm favourite with families around the world.

As the years rolled on, they then changed this recipe to bring to life the oatmeal cookie recipe and this has become their most popular recipe.

We have recreated the original recipe but if you are not a fan of raisins, here are some great alternatives to add.

This recipe was eventually replaced for vanishing oatmeal cookies, but it was never the same.

Chocolate works well in any cookies but it is a great addition to oat cookies,  Just fold through instead of the raisins.
