Delicious but simple flapjacks
Flapjacks are that delicious but super sweet treat that everyone loves. This recipe is for a simple flapjack recipe, but there are so many ways to brings your flapjacks to life, depending on your flavour preferences. This baked oats treat, is not only quick to make but tasty too.
For me, you can’t be the taste of a warm slice of flapjack with a cup of tea. However, adding coconut and chocolate to the mix brings some yummy extra flavours to the table. Another great idea is to add dried fruit into the mix such as apricots or cranberries, again both of these bring a different dimension to the recipe.
If you are after a real treat after dinner, why not try serving your flapjack warm with custard. Not very healthy but a huge sugary rush that the whole family will love.

The key to these flapjacks is not to bake them for too long, if you take them a little too far, once they cool they are quite hard. You just need to remember that they will firm up a bit more once they come out of the oven.
Once you have made these flapjacks, they will last well in an airtight container for up to 5 days, if they last that long. These are just as popular as our cookie recipe, once the kids get a waft of the smell of sugary treat baking in the oven, they start to swarm around waiting for them to be ready. Just make sure you allow them time to cool or the sugary mixture can burn your mouth a little.
In time we will be adding to our recipes a range of different sweet and savoury family favourites. For now, though you can check out some more inspiration on our Pinterest page here.
